Introduction

So, you wanna make sprite comics, just like your heroes at Fireball20xl? Well, sorry, but I can't teach you how to draw like Fooly, or have a way like when there's a Wil. What I can teach you is how to make sprite comics like myself, Rogultgot. You know, that loser who does Warp Star and T3h Pixel? ... I can tell you're not impressed. Let's just get on with things.

First things first, plan out your comic: Characters, references, plot, all that jazz. Plot is easily the most important. I'm going to go out and say that plots are almost always a good thing, however if you become to deep in plot you can lose the humour, and if you don't have any plot at all your comic may stagnate. I'll be going over plots later on in this tutorial, so I can offer you my "expertise" on the subject.
You need to know what your comic is going to be about before you even think of writing up anything. The easy routes are obviously videogame based comics; All the characters have been created for you, sometimes with personalities to boot, and all you have to do is give them a scenario that the readers can enjoy. I'm sure you know that I chose the Kirby series to base my comic on, because I really like the Kirby series, and there are a lot of opportunities in plotlines for a space-traveling, ever-hungry puffball.
So, get all your crap set up. List your main cast of characters, with their personality quirks (Don't go insane here, we've all seen too many "Hyper for the sake of being hyper" characters,) and then begin to think of what stuff they could get up to. Borrow a plot from a game and change a few characters around if you want, but try to keep "Mario goes to Mobius" style plotlines down to a minimum if you don't have a good reason for why he's there. Mmm'kay? Mmm'kay.
You may be ready at this stage to begin making your damn comic, so I'll move on over to the next step.
